winged guitar pendant in sterling silver

Posted by 36877008 on

This guitar pendant is a bit more involved and I would categorize it in the more intermediate difficulty. As almost always I made this one from sterling silver and I love it if I may say so and here is how to do it . Draw your guitar with 2 wings attached on a piece of paper and glue to your metal – I use 18 gauge sterling silver ( if you go thinner then that your fretboard might bend on you. Draw a second set of smaller wings separately and glue this also to the sterling silver . Cut...

Shadow box flower pendant

Posted by 36877008 on

This is a fairly easy project . A so called shadow box pendant . Shadow boxes consist of 2 shapes that are identical with one of the shapes having a pierced and cut design . On my project I am making a geometrical flower. I amusing 18 gauge sterling silver which is 1 mm thick and will give you a nice solid and heavier piece to wear. This project was fun and very cute .I used 18 gauge sterling silver again . Draw your seahorse on a piece of paper and stick it onto your metal sheet . Cut out with your jewelry saw and 1/0 saw blades. Cut also the base of your pendant - I chose a dogtag shape. After cutting out your shapes make sure everything fits well together . Sand down with sand paper to clean the metal before soldering. Flux the back of your seahorse and add solder . Heat with torch until the solder flows ( melts ). Quench in water...

Sterling silver wing ring

Another cool project I did a while ago . Its a ring with wings . draw your wings out onto a sheet of paper and glue that to a metal sheet - I used like usual a 18 gauge sterling silver sheet-I prefer 18 gauge as it is thicker then 20 gauge and will hold its shape without bending. I have found that anything thinner than 18 gauge will bend very easy . Cut out your wings with a jewelry saw and 1/0 saw blades cut a piece of wire for the ring shank ( or you can buy a...
