These sterling silver stud earrings were sawed by hand in the shape of a heart from 20 gauge sterling silver. A dark brushed patina provides sharp contrast in the grooves of the sunburst design, while offering accent shading on the surface. I dapped and domed the hearts on a steel block to produce a curvature that creates natural highlights from light reflecting off the curved surface. The finished hearts were soldered to sterling silver hypoallergenic studs with an acetylene torch.

The hearts measure 9 mm at the widest point and are soldered to standard sized hypoallergenic sterling silver studs.
