Sawed by hand from 18 gauge sterling silver, this sea turtle pendant features a pierced and cut hibiscus flower in the center encircled by small star stamps. Also used on the flippers to create the intricate cut outs, the pierce and cut technique requires punching small holes, feeding a very fine blade through the holes, and sawing out the small cut outs. The edges were filed by hand, surfaces burnished with a wire brush, and a final polishing using a silicon flap wheel reveals a smooth silver finish. The turtle measures about 1.25 inches in length and width and comes with a sterling silver chain.
As a symbol of longevity, endurance, and strength, the sea turtle was combined with a hibiscus flower to represent everlasting peace and tranquility. I also have black leather cords with adjustable slip knots or a copper ball chain available for simple substitution in place of the sterling silver chain. The leather cords are the most durable option for sports, surfing, and extreme wear. Custom orders are always welcome and I can even modify this turtle pendant with latitude longitude coordinates or stamped words around the hibiscus flower.
Custom orders and requests are always welcome. Please don’t hesitate to contact us or call any time with questions and special requests. Thanks.. Nici
