This butterfly ring was handmade with artistic intricate cut outs to integrate Art Deco geometry into a stylish sterling silver ring.

Starting with a flat sheet of 18 gauge sterling silver, the ring was cut with a jewelry saw as one continuous band that includes the shank and butterfly. The geometric cut outs were added by punching small pilot holes, feeding the saw blade through the holes, and sawing out the shapes. Worked into a semi round shape to perfectly align the two ends, the ring is then soldered together at the seam using silver solder and an acetylene torch. The semi round ring was slid over a steel mandrel and hammered into a perfectly round ring with a nylon mallet. A brushed finish and very subtle hammered texture provide a slight shimmer in the sun.

As photographed, this ring is shown in a size 7 and the butterfly measures about 1 inch wide, however the ring can be ordered in any size by entering your ring size in the check out notes along with any other requests such as finish preferences.
