Floating on angle wings out-stretched, this sterling silver double wing cross was sawed in two parts by hand using a fine blade tensioned in a square frame jewelry saw as a symbol that transcends religious connotations to create a bold decorative statement heavily influenced by the stylized elements of a Fleur-de-lis cross combined with Iconic angle wings. Both the smaller and larger crosses were cut from substantial 18 gauge sterling silver sheet metal and were joined together with sterling silver solder by heating with an acetylene torch. The fine details such as the grooves were precisely chased into the metal, before applying a pewter patina for contrast. A blue topaz was added to the design for a heavenly bluish glow that compliments the warm silver radiance of the hand brushed metal.
The cross measures about 2 inches long by 2 inches wide and includes an 18 inch stainless steel ball chain that was chosen for durability and resistance to tarnishing, however you can also order your cross with a very durable southwestern black leather cord tied together with adjustable slip knots or a linked sterling silver chain for simple elegance.
