Handmade from sterling silver and featuring a black onyx, this flower pendant was sawed by hand from 18 gauge sterling silver to capture the fine details of a natural flower. The outer pedals were sawed as one continuous form and were domed on a dapping block to produce acurved shape. The inner whorls or pedal structure was also sawed from 18 gauger sterling silver with a jewelry saw, domed, and then soldered in the center of the outer pedals. In the middle of the inner whorls, I soldered a stone cup to hold the onxy stone in place. A gray patina was applied to the sterling silver surfaces then brushed by hand to reveal some of the underlying silver, while also creating an antiqued finish with natural iridescence. As a final step, the black onyx stone was set in the cup.

The flower pendant measures about 1.15 inches in diameter, comes with an 18 inch sterling silver chain, and can be customized to individual tastes with different stones, designs, and metals.
