This handmade sterling silver flower ring was constructed enterily by hand to bring the beauty of a flower to your finger while fusing artistic touches into the design. The initial step was to saw the two flower patterns from 18 gauge sterling silver and flat strip of metal that would become the ring shank from an 16 gauge sterling silver. A simple jewelry saw was used to cut the outer 5 pedals as one continuous form and the process was repeated for the inner pedals. These two flat pedal forms were domed on a dapping block to form the three dimensional flower shape and create the naturally curved pedals of a flower, which produce highlights and when light strikes the surface.

The flat strip of 16 gauge sterling silver was worked into a round shape and the seams were soldered together with an acetylene torch. The ring shank was then placed on a steel ring mandrel and hammered into a perfectly round ring. The inner and outer flower forms along with the ring shank and stone setting were then soldered together. Those rich dark shades of gray along with the iridescence were produced with a silver gray oxidizing patina. A 3mm red coral stone was set in the center whorl as strong focal point and to break the metallic tones with a primary color.The ring was then gently polished by hand to create accents and shades.
