These wild paw stud earrings have domed discs with paw stamps that were sawed by hand from an 18 gauge sterling silver sheet with a jewelry saw. After sawing and stamping the 8mm discs, I hammered the flat discs on a steel dapping block to produce a domed form that reflects light to create natural highlights and shadows. In addition to the natural lighting effects generated by curvature, a dark patina was applied to the sterling silver and then brushed to reveal highlighted areas of radiant sterling silver, while the grooves of the paw design were left black for maximum contrast.
The ear posts are hypoallergenic sterling silver and were soldered to the domes with pure sterling silver solder. You may also use the notes to seller section during check out to personalize these dome earrings with any design in place of the paw stamp such as an initial, monogram, or other metal stamp from my extensive collection.
