Sterling silver wing ring
Posted by 36877008 on
Another cool project I did a while ago . Its a ring with wings . draw your wings out onto a sheet of paper and glue that to a metal sheet - I used like usual a 18 gauge sterling silver sheet-I prefer 18 gauge as it is thicker then 20 gauge and will hold its shape without bending. I have found that anything thinner than 18 gauge will bend very easy . Cut out your wings with a jewelry saw and 1/0 saw blades cut a piece of wire for the ring shank ( or you can buy a...

butterfly garden bracelet

this is just something to show you what one can do with old fashioned tools and 2 hands . I have no tutorial for that one as that bracelet took the whole day and was rather complicated and needed my whole attention . Hope you like it. www.nicilaskin.etsy.com nici

Sterling silver dragonfly cuff bracelet
Posted by 36877008 on
I love dragonflies , who doesn't ? This is a more advanced project and you will need a bit more experience to make this one. Again I used 18 gauge ( 1mm thick ) sterling silver for that one . I cut a 1 inch wide and 6 inch long strip from sterling silver . The wings were drawn onto label paper for a printer and then stuck to 18 gauge sterling sheet . I used a 6 inch jewelry saw frame with 1/0 saw blades . The 6 inch saw frame is the one I use almost always to...

flower shadow box pendant
Posted by 36877008 on
This is something easier then the bracelet I posted earlier . A so called shadow box pendant. Shadow boxes consist of 2 components that are soldered together . One base and one with a cut out I used 18 gauge sterling silver again but 20 gauge will work well too . You need 2 circles in the same size . I have a disc cutter for that but you can also cut by hand. Draw a shape on one of the circles ( I drew a flower) drill a hole to feed your saw...

Sterling silver wolf bracelet
Posted by 36877008 on
Hi there and welcome to my new blog . I will jump right into it with my first project . A sterling silver running wolf bracelet. I used 18 gauge sterling silver for this but you can make it also in copper ,bronze or brass. I cut a 1 inch wide by 6 inch long strip from the sterling sheet. 3 wolfs were transfered onto the silver and cut out via jewelers saw and 1/0 saw blades . I soldered the wolfs onto the strip and then pickled it. Round the edges. Start adding texture with chasing tools or if...
