Handcrafted Bird Sterling Silver Tie clip with Black Onyx

Sawed entirely by hand from sterling silver, this silver bird tie bar takes flight with two genuine black onyx stones set in bezel cups and engraved regimes and rectrices along the trailing edges blended with a fine brushed finish that not only brings out a soft silver glow, but also further defines the feathers as a soft background detail.

Measuring 2 inches from wing tip to wing tip, the tie bar was carefully cut freehand from a flat 18 gauge sterling silver sheet using a fine frame saw and the tab was rolled around around a small cylindrical piece of steel to form the spring clip. To join the bezel cups to the silver bird, a very fine flame was provided by a hydroflux welder to fuse and solder the cups in place while producing minimal fire scale. The usual methods of pickling to remove the excesses oxidation and directional finishing completed the creative process. As already stated, the tie bar measures 2 inches in length as photographed, but can be custom ordered in any size to accommodate your favorite skinny tie or even an extra wide tie.
